Regent Seven Seas Cruises Launches Destination Wedding Program
Jul 10, 2007
Fort Lauderdale - July 10, 2007 - Regent Seven Seas CruisesSM announced a new program for guests as part of The Regent Travel ConciergeSM: custom-tailored wedding planning services are now offered for Regent guests wishing to exchange their vows in select ports of call worldwide.
This newly expanded service of The Regent Travel Concierge is made possible through a partnership with cruise destination wedding experts Royal Ocean Events.
"As destination weddings and vow renewal ceremonies continue to increase in popularity, we are delighted to offer Regent Seven Seas guests a new service to assist them in planning a truly one-of-a-kind wedding abroad," said Darius Mehta, Regent Seven Seas Cruises' director of land programs and creator of The Regent Travel Concierge program.
The Regent Travel Concierge was created to provide guests custom-tailored shore experiences based on personal interests and desires - from shorter excursions in particular ports of call to extended pre- and post-cruise land programs.
Guests wishing to plan a wedding or vow renewal ceremony as part of a Regent cruise will be paired by The Regent Travel Concierge team with a personal consultant from Royal Ocean Events who can assist them in planning the wedding of their dreams. Although weddings planned by Royal Ocean Events typically include an officiant, marriage certificate, wedding cake and champagne, there is no pre-arranged menu of wedding packages for Regent guests; each guest will receive a personal consultation on unique ways they can celebrate their vows in one of many ports of call world-wide. From a sunset wedding along the banks of an uninhabited South Pacific island to a kilted ceremony in an ancient Scottish castle accompanied by a band of Highland bagpipers, to an intimate ceremony in the company of a hundred Antarctic penguins, the options are limitless.
"We are pleased to partner with Regent Seven Seas Cruises, to offer truly extraordinary wedding experiences," said Chris Scurr, marketing director for Royal Ocean Events. "The sky won't even be the limit - if a Regent guest wishes to get married in a hot air balloon over a tropical pineapple plantation, or take a helicopter to a glistening Alaskan glacier, we can do that."
Based in Vancouver, Canada, the team of experts at Royal Ocean Events has planned thousands of cruise weddings in its 10-year history. The company's wedding planners offers guests in-depth knowledge not only of romantic venues around the world, but how best to navigate the logistical elements of obtaining a marriage license in a foreign country.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the world's largest luxury cruise line, offers voyages of exploration and discovery to more than 300 ports on six continents, including Antarctica.
