2007 Condé Nast Traveler "Gold List" Rates Seabourn Best For Food, Service
Jan 22, 2007
MIAMI, January 22, 2007----The Yachts of Seabourn earned the highest scores among all cruise lines in the all-important categories of “Food” and “Service” from readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine, according to the annual “Gold List” published in the magazine’s January 2007 issue. The yacht-like ships’ sumptuous suite accommodations likewise impressed readers, scoring 94 out of a possible 100 points.
Seabourn has been honored on every Gold List since the survey was initiated in 1994, and its ships have consistently occupied the upper ranks of the ratings. According to Pamela C. Conover, Seabourn’s president and CEO, “There are many elements that combine to make Seabourn cruise vacations the world’s finest, and certainly food and service are two areas in which we especially excel.”
Conover further noted that “We carry almost as many staff as we do guests, and they provide anticipatory, personalized pampering that simply enchants our guests.”
Conover credits the food score to “…Amazing cuisine designed by celebrity chef Charlie Palmer, a relaxed, open-seating restaurant and a variety of more casual alternative dining options” on Seabourn ships.
The 2007 Gold List accolades join a growing volume of awards and honors accruing to the three, intimate, all-suite Seabourn ships. The fleet was named the world’s best small-ship line in 2005 and 2006 by readers of Travel + Leisure, and also won the highest scores in the Luxury Survey conducted by Departures magazine, published exclusively for American Express Platinum and Centurion cardholders.
