Oceania Cruises Celebrates Fourth Anniversary
Jan 08, 2007

Miami, FL, January 8, 2007 – Oceania Cruises® celebrated its fourth anniversary today. As the company enters its fifth year of service, it has quickly grown from a start-up brand to a driving force with a global presence and a fleet that sails to all seven continents.

"As I reflect back on the past four years, Oceania Cruises’ success has been the fulfillment of a dream and it has exceeded my greatest expectations. The tremendous support we received from our travel agent partners, the feedback and guidance from our guests, and the passion and dedication of every member of our organization were all critical components of this success," stated Frank Del Rio, Chairman and CEO of Oceania Cruises.

Founded in October 2002, Oceania Cruises officially opened its corporate offices on January 6, 2003 and took its first guest reservation on January 21st of that year. Regatta sailed her first voyage on July 5, 2003, followed by Insignia on April 3, 2004 and Nautica on November 27, 2005, and the line has since carried almost 125,000 satisfied guests. Not surprisingly, the line has culled tremendous loyalty among repeat guests, known as Oceania Club members, who have returned time and time again with many on their third, fourth or fifth cruise and several having completed more than 10 cruises with the line in fewer than four years.

Having culled such great loyalty among its guests, the company has gathered critical acclaim as a direct result. For the past four years, Oceania Cruises has been rated as one of the world’s best cruise lines by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure Magazine, Departures, and many others. “Words can not adequately express our gratitude to our guests and travel agent partners for their support and acclaim of our product. Not only do we strive for excellence in everything we do, we are always looking to elevate the Oceania Cruises Experience to new heights through innovation and refinement,” stated Bob Binder, President of Oceania Cruises.

2006 was a banner year for the line as it the first full year in which the company operated all three ships for a full year, introduced private luxury cabanas to the cruise industry and the “Perfect Table” concept across the fleet, it expanded its destinations to include all seven continents, and ended the year by partnering with Lehman Brothers and UBS Securities to purchase its three-ship fleet.

In 2007, Oceania Cruises will sail to more than 170 ports around the globe and will feature maiden calls in Mahon, Spain; Porto Cervo, Italy; Cinque Terre, Italy; Monemvasia, Greece; Semarang, Indonesia; Bali, Indonesia; Komodo, Indonesia; and Darwin, Australia. In 2008, the line will sail to Australia and New Zealand for the first time and present an even wider array of intriguing destinations throughout the Far East and China, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean.
