MIAMI (December 21, 2006) – For the 13th year in a row, Carnival Cruise Lines has been named a "best cruise value" by Ocean & Cruise News, the monthly publication of the World Cruise & Ocean Liner Society, comprised of highly experienced cruise enthusiasts. The awards are featured in the publication’s Nov. 15, 2006, issue.
Carnival earned top honors in the High Superior Four-Plus Star Category and was named the "Best Short Cruise Value" in the publication’s annual "Best Value Awards" recognizing those cruise lines that provide the highest quality product at the best price.
Additionally, in the overall value rankings, Carnival Cruise Lines placed second behind sister company Holland America Line.
Carnival was recognized for its fleetwide product upgrades and enhanced service standards, along with varied entertainment options, spacious accommodations and stimulating on-board atmosphere.
"Adding greatly to the passenger’s sense of value is the effort that Carnival has put forth over the past years in upgrading the onboard product in key areas of service, dining and entertainment. Carnival delivers the fun that is promised in its advertising plus outstanding value for the money," said Ocean & Cruise News Editor Tom Cassidy.
Commented Carnival President and CEO Bob Dickinson, "Over the past several years, Carnival has invested millions in product upgrades – from new menu selections created by world-renowned chef Georges Blanc to expanded children and teen programming and the new ‘Carnival Comfort Bed’ sleep system – all part of our commitment to provide our guests with the best value in travel. Receiving these accolades from such a prestigious group as the World Cruise & Ocean Liner society is a gratifying endorsement of these efforts."
